The British School of Bahrain PO Box 15775 Adliya Bahrain - Tel: (+973) 17710878 Fax: 17710875 Hamala Tel: 17613330

Welcome to our school. This is a school where children work hard, play hard and get most out of life in a rapidly developing country. We pride ourselves on our academic success and our care for individual children. We are justly proud of our community spirit and open and friendly atmosphere.

We are a vibrant and successful community. Founded in 1995. The British School is innovative, forward looking and dynamic. However, we strive to retain the best of traditional values. Our mission is to offer a first class education, from Kindergarten to Sixth Form.

We are an independent school for boys and girls from the age of 3 to 18. We follow the British National Curriculum to GCSE and GCE level and have a well-qualified teaching and support staff, predominantly recruited from the United Kingdom.

If you can visit us, you will always be welcome. Bill Frost - Principal

Welcome to Bahrain Bayan School

Any school can teach students to read and write…

Any school can teach students mathematical formulas, physics, chemistry, or biology…

But only a school which believes that the education of personality is an extension of classical education will teach students how to think methodically, to express themselves correctly, to act maturely and to respect their environment and other fellow human beings. This is our goal at BBS.

This 2007-2008 school year sees the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the creation of BBS. It is time to review our past achievements, to confirm our philosophical choices, and to rethink our educational references.

At the time of its creation, the BBS was founded to provide a good basis for the children of a handful of parents who wanted their children to keep their Arabic roots, yet have the educational background to be able to enter European and American Universities. The school therefore concentrated its efforts on preparing students for exams. In fact, the majority of BBS students succeeded in international and national exams, allowing them to move on to great schools and universities.

Twenty-five years on, and the demands on educational institutions have grown. Parents do not only ask to get their children into great universities, they also want schools to instill an academic, social and personal behaviour in their children which gives them an edge over others. Whereas in the past it did not matter if BBS students blended in with every other student from other schools, nowadays students need to stand out.

This coming year and in the years to follow, the BBS will strive to consolidate its philosophical choices, to build itself an academic tradition and an educational policy which will give its students and alumni a distinctive pedigree and an edge over others. The educational and administrative staff will put every effort into ensuring that the BBS student will from now on be recognised for his attitude, maturity, intellectual and practical competencies and his entrepreneurial spirit. Our goal is to develop the BBS student into a willing learner, and one who is willing to perfect himself.
